![]() ![]() If anything is suited to be a barbarian totem, it is that thing. But then again, the bearded vulture is a fabulous creature that eats bones and paints itself with the blood of its prey. I'd probably ban the vulture on the basis that I would legitimately worry about my players attempting to spray their enemies with bodily fluids. Elephant or rhino I think make a bit more sense. For example I was thinking of a desert barbarian with bear=armidillo, wolf=hyena, and eagle=vulture (not the best matches but still, what would you use) What other animals do you think fit pretty well with them? Don't even have to be the same kind of animal, I could see eagle being a flying squirel.I like the desert idea, but armadillos and hyenas are not only not native to the same place (and a bit iconic of their respective areas), but armadillos are.Well, just so darn cute and small when compared to a bear. You can choose the same animal you selected previously or a different one.The given ones are pretty cool, but I think you could take them in diffrent directions. The smell of blood alerts the shark of new prey. Level 3: when you are raging, you may use your bonus action to move up to half your speed towards an enemy below full health. ![]() When you do so, a spiritual version of one of the animals you chose for Totem Spirit or Aspect of the Beast appears to you to convey the information you seek.Īt 14th level, you gain a magical benefit based on a totem animal of your choice. Shark Totem Barbarian (5e D&D) A thread in the 5e subforum gave me an idea for a new totem for the totem warrior subclass. Climbing no longer costs additional movement for you.Īt 10th level, you can cast the commune with nature spell, but only as a ritual. Tree: You learn how animals have climbed trees. While travelling for an hour or more in an area with vegetation, you can never get lost. Mushroom: You tap into the knowledge of the plants around you.You gain proficiency in two of the following skills: Deception, Intimidation, Performance, Persuasion. Flytrap: The deceptive scent of the flytrap is passed down to you.You can choose the same animal you selected at 3rd level or a different one. While raging, you have advantage on Wisdom saving throws, and your armor class increases by 1.Īt 6th level, you gain a magical benefit based on the totem animal of your choice. Tree: The powerful bark and ancient knowledge of the tree protect you as you fight. That creature shares your resistances until either your rage ends, or you select a new creature. Mushroom: While raging, you can use your bonus action to select a creature within 30 feet of yourself. While you're raging and are hit by a melee weapon attack, you can use your reaction to make one weapon attack on the attacker. Flytrap: The swift bites of the flytrap make your reactions faster. For example, you could choose a hawk or vulture in place of an eagle. Your totem animal might be an animal related to those listed here but more appropriate to your homeland. For example, if you have a bear totem spirit, you might be unusually hairy and thick-skinned, or if your totem is the eagle, your eyes turn bright yellow. D&D 5e Tweaks & Fixes Barbarian Revised v1.5 By KireExion (a.k.a, u/Kire-Ikasu) Preface This document contains homebrew material that has been developed from my own observations as well as common player criticisms and suggested fixes made by various players and dungeon masters alike. At your option, you also gain minor physical attributes that are reminiscent of your totem spirit. You must make or acquire a physical totem object- an amulet or similar adornment-that incorporates fur or feathers, claws, teeth, or bones of the totem animal. Such barbarians may learn speak with plants as a ritual, instead of speak with animals and beast sense.Īt 3rd level, when you adopt this path, you choose a totem spirit and gain its feature. ![]() Some barbarians are versed in the language of plants instead of animals. At 3rd level when you adopt this path, you gain the ability to cast the beast sense and speak with animals spells, but only as rituals. Yours is a path that seeks attunement with the natural world, giving you a kinship with beasts. These totems are additional variant totems that can be chosen by barbarians of the Path of the Totem Warrior. ![]()
